This was a construction project which was a medium scale renovation project to renovate the junior block in 2018-2019. It involved opening up walls, exterior doors, inserting new structures, replacing gib, painting, and exterior work such as constructing a new deck, and accessible ramp. The junior block work covers four classrooms, three breakout rooms, one art room, and one kitchen. The deck work involved in this project was the most valuable to the school, upgrading the existing concrete stairs to large kwila decks, yet keeping the traditional look to the school which is almost 90 years old. The deck is well supported, with approx 80 pile holes drilled. The interior of the 1933 Junior block was fully renovated too, with new paint throughout, new layout, new Autex, heating panel, and floor covering, while keeping the element like T&G dado, old window winding gear, and old sliding glass doors. The school now has additional meeting rooms, an art room, and most importantly, large decks for children to play on. All renovation was done while keeping the historic essence in the building.
